What we wanted
A driver set whose torque collar was accurate enough to trust on a laptop hinge.
What we tested
Ten actuations at each collar setting on a transducer, plus Rockwell hardness.
What we found
4.1% worst-case torque deviation and 59 HRC bits, against a set that measured 51 HRC and rounded on first use.
Why we sell it anyway
Below 0.3 Nm the collar does nothing, which rules out the very smallest work.
Who it is not for
Watchmaking, or phone repairs needing tri-point and Torx Plus bits.
What it does not do
The torque collar is uncalibrated below 0.3 Nm — it will not protect the smallest screws.
No Torx Plus or tri-point bits, so some phone chassis are out of scope.
This is an open-box unit; the case is scuffed, as disclosed above.
