What we wanted
A desk lamp whose flicker we had actually measured rather than assumed.
What we tested
Flicker on an oscilloscope at every brightness step, illuminance, and CRI.
What we found
3.1% worst-case flicker, where two lamps in the same price band exceeded 20% at low steps.
Why we sell it anyway
The friction arm is the compromise, and it drifts. We say so.
Who it is not for
Anyone needing a cordless lamp, or an arm that locks rigidly.
What it does not do
The arm holds position by friction and will drift under vibration.
No battery; it must stay plugged in.
The 2700 K setting loses roughly 15% of the illuminance at 5000 K.
