What we wanted
A watch whose heart-rate figure we could check against a reference.
What we tested
Twelve paired sessions against a chest strap, plus GPS against a surveyed track.
What we found
A 4.2 bpm mean absolute error at steady state, which is usable for training zones.
Why we sell it anyway
Interval accuracy is the weak point and is stated rather than buried.
Who it is not for
Interval athletes who need per-second accuracy, or any medical use.
What it does not do
Heart-rate error rises sharply during intervals with rapid cadence change.
No ECG, no blood-pressure estimate, and no medical certification of any kind.
5 ATM covers swimming but not diving.
